Departing from Marina Gouvia, we cruise south on the east coastline, quickly reaching the small islands of Lazareto & Vido, a perfect stop for some refreshments and relaxation at the the waters edge, and of course a lovely swim, with a view of the gorgeous and picturesque town of Corfu.

As we start cruising again, we approach the old Venetian fortress of Corfu, once the island's protector against the Turks, successfully repulsing three ottoman sieges. Today the fortress houses the Public Library of Corfu, as well as the Hellenic Music Research Lab of the Ionian University, and is a much loved & cherished monument by the island's people.
Moving towards Corfu Town and Garitsa bay, we see the luxurious yachts moored and dotted across the bay, a perfect time to enjoy a glass of wine and watch the sunset if your cruise is in the afternoon hours.

We soon reach the infamous Pontikonisi, Greek for “Mouse Island '' where we see airplanes landing and taking off from Corfu airport nearby. Another natural beauty is of course Vlacherna Monastery, an iconic point of the island, and one of the most photographed buildings in Corfu. It’s distinguished by its unusual shape, and pedestrian walkway that connects it to the mainland.

Finally, we reach Kaiser bridge, an architectural masterpiece that is still preserved not only as a symbol of architectural significance but also of imperial vanity.

We head back up the coastline after reminiscing about these beautiful historic points, enjoying some light snacks and beverages before finding another swimming spot close to the fortress, before constantly arriving back in the marina.
